Silly, as it may sound, there are hundreds if not thousands of ‘experts’ who love sharing their piece of advice without anyone ever asking. Many fall prey to them and even defend themselves based on someone’s claim of that so called ‘success’. This blog is just a collection of those special few which we have also come across thanks to our SMB clients.

Some of them are pretty obvious but some of them made us think real deep. Do share in the comments below if you have received some amazing advice from your ‘consultants’ as well. We can discuss on it together and take it forward.

  • Marketing Department is a Cost Center – be very careful before investing
  • Free tools are best for marketing in the long run as well
  • SEO is dead! Who has time to wait that long?
  • Social media is total waste of time – kids use it
  • Never respond to negative comments – it’s like giving them undue importance
  • Social media marketing is not worth the amount of time and energy behind it now – only big companies opt for it
  • B2B and B2C marketing is “80%” similar – Just do it!
  • Why do you need a marketing agency? In-house resource is the best.
  • Brand gets built up during the course of business – focus when you have time
  • Webinars and Podcasts just help you market your business
  • Best way to do email campaigns is to purchase a B2B list
  • Just implement Marketing Automation and you will start getting leads immediately
  • Content flow or messaging on your website and paid campaigns landing pages cannot be different
  • You don’t have to pay for the website. Just create it free using online tools and get your marketing agency to market and generate leads from it.
  • Offsite messaging cannot help you generate leads.
  • You don’t need a dedicated graphic designer and content writer for marketing

The list is exhaustive and is getting updated every day. It is challenging and interesting hearing about all the thoughts that run behind such advices. Inbound marketing or even digital marketing cannot run with a push philosophy in today’s world. This ‘pull’ of information has helped us devise better plans and roll them out in to the market.
